A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Lecce
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a playground - we need $2,950 for materials.
🇮🇹 Lecce, Puglia, Italy1,387 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,950.
It will serve about 129 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,950 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $170
• Safety equipment and signage: $340
• Materials: $2,440
I hope life is good to you.

Thinking of you, Antonio. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in
Take care, Antonio. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Lecce.
Thinking of you and your family, Antonio. Great idea, hope you get there. God bless.
