A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Kharkiv
Volunteers in Kharkiv are raising $650 for a playground at the Harmony health centre yard.
🇺🇦 Kharkiv, Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine1,382 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 496 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $650 goes:
• Materials: $400
• Permits and inspections: $65
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
• Tools hire and delivery: $125
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
