A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Jakarta Selatan

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a playground - we need $550 for materials.

Jakarta Selatan

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab community hall, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 310 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $550 goes: • Permits and inspections: $20 • Materials: $430 • Tools hire and delivery: $100 Every share and every dollar helps. - Fitria
