A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Glasgow
A community-led a playground at the Sycamore health centre yard that will serve 370 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $1,100, and the remaining cost is $2,800.
It will serve about 370 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $220
• Materials: $2,450
• Safety equipment and signage: $130
