A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Girona
A community-led a playground at Liberty Primary School that will serve 127 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $210, and the remaining cost is $2,650.
It will serve about 127 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $390
• Permits and inspections: $90
• Materials: $2,170
