A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Fort Collins
Volunteers in Fort Collins are raising $3,700 for a playground at the old Jacaranda bus depot.
🇺🇸 Colorado, United States4,353 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Jacaranda bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,700.
It will serve about 449 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,700 goes:
• Materials: $2,950
• Permits and inspections: $200
• Safety equipment and signage: $300
• Tools hire and delivery: $250
Glad we found this place.
