Durgapur
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $700. It will serve about 491 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $700 goes: • Materials: $550 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $55 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Yamuna
