Cape Coast
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 148 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $300 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $60 • Materials: $200 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Elizabeth
