A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Bristol
A community-led a playground at the Cedar health centre yard that will serve 430 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,350.
It will serve about 430 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $110
• Tools hire and delivery: $290
• Materials: $950
