A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Bellevue
Volunteers in Bellevue are raising $1,850 for a playground at the Union community hall.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,850.
It will serve about 302 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Materials: $1,250
• Permits and inspections: $160
• Safety equipment and signage: $240
• Tools hire and delivery: $200
