My father Juma has been accepted for treatment at Kakamega University Hospital in Kakamega, starting on Sunday in May. We live 370 km away in a rural district, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself. We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 6 weeks. Two of us would stay: Juma and me. We can contribute $20 a week and cook for the household if you'd like. Juma will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you. Thanks for being kind about this.

Best of luck, Bakari. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Abuja donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Kakamega

    • Stay strong, Bakari. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.

      • sending good thoughts, Bakari. Shared it with a few friends. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Pelotas.

        • Stay strong, Bakari. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Take care

          • Wishing you the best, Bakari. Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Mbale
