My brother Salim has been accepted for treatment at Birmingham Transplant Centre in Birmingham, starting on Tuesday in September. We live 494 km away in a rural district, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself. We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 5 weeks. Two of us would stay: Salim and me. We can contribute $150 a week and cook for the household if you'd like. Salim will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • Sending strength, Malak. Hope you get there. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Contagem

    • Thinking of you, Malak. Shared this with my family. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Birmingham

      • sending love, Malak. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'll check back for the next update

        • you're not alone, Malak. Hope this works out for you. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
