A partial thyroidectomy for Zahra: covering what insurance won't
Zahra needs a partial thyroidectomy at Bogor University Hospital and the family is $150 short of the hospital's estimate.

Zahra was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in June. The surgeon at Bogor University Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $200, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $150 short.
my wife has been in and out of Bogor University Hospital since June. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $200 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Zahra struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Zahra won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $150 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $45
• Travel and lodging for the family: $60
• Post-operative medication: $45
Thanks for being kind about this.

Best of luck. Shared it with a few friends. My neighbor in Radom donated after I showed her your page. Blessings.
Take care, Pandu. Wishing Zahra a smooth procedure and a full recovery. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings.
