Nora was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in August. The surgeon at Glasgow Orthopedic Institute recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $6,550 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Glasgow Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Nora struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Nora won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
