Janet was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in July. The surgeon at Saint Anne Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,250, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $3,600 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Saint Anne Hospital since July. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Janet struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Janet won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
