Hạnh was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in August. The surgeon at Saint Joseph Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,100, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $650 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Joseph Hospital since August. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,100 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Hạnh struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Hạnh won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
