A partial thyroidectomy for Hamza: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled a partial thyroidectomy in August is out of reach without help covering $250 of the cost.

In May I was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections. My surgeon at Mansoura Community Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and I have been placed on the schedule for August. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $310, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $250 short.
Doctors at Mansoura Community Hospital told me a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. I work as a restaurant cook, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $310 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a restaurant cook have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. I'll not be able to look after the children alone during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $250 goes:
• Physiotherapy sessions: $75
• Travel and lodging for the family: $30
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $70
• Post-operative medication: $75
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

You're not alone, Hamza. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Please keep us posted. Blessings
Best of luck, Hamza. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Mansoura!
Hope the doctors have good news. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Durham.
