A pair of hearing aids for Simiyu: help Simiyu move freely
A pair of hearing aids would give Simiyu independence - we're $350 away.

Simiyu lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at the Entebbe Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $350.
His current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment Simiyu could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $350 goes:
• pair of hearing aids: $260
• Fitting and training sessions: $45
• Delivery and set-up: $20
• First-year servicing plan: $25
Thanks for reading all this.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Simiyu
It's all in the list in the story. pair of hearing aids is the big one at $260, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Fair thing to want to know.
Good luck, Otieno. Shared it with a few friends. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
So sorry you're going through this. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I hope February is when things finally get easier.
Best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. Don't give up. Take care.
Wishing you peace, Otieno. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Take care.
Rooting for you, Otieno. Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Greetings from Pelotas
I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. After 14 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
