Likoni
My family left Ethiopia 8 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Likoni. We're a family of five and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in November. I was an engineer in Ethiopia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $500 goes: • Winter clothing and school supplies: $90 • Language classes and bus passes: $80 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $50 • Rent deposit and first month: $280 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Updates from Kioko

  1. Quick update: $51 raised so far (10%). I made the first payment toward language classes and bus passes. Receipts coming as soon as I have them. - Kioko
