A fresh start in Istanbul: help the Sahin family resettle
After fleeing Ethiopia, the Sahin family has arrived in Istanbul with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Ethiopia 8 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Istanbul. We're a family of seven and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in October.
I was a shopkeeper in Ethiopia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $350 goes:
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $210
• Language classes and bus passes: $65
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $75
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
