Coventry
My family left the Democratic Republic of Congo 14 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Coventry. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in November. I was an electrician in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $3,500 goes: • Rent deposit and first month: $1,650 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $830 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $380 • Language classes and bus passes: $440 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $200 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

  • praying for you, Henry. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
