Birmingham
My family left Syria 8 months ago after the conflict closed our school and clinic. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Birmingham. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in August. I was a mechanic in Syria, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $1,750 goes: • Phone and internet for school and job search: $260 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $630 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $410 • Language classes and bus passes: $450 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • take care, Ariana. Shared it with a few friends. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Greetings from Laredo.

    • Hang in there. Hope you get there. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Birmingham.
