A fresh start in Ballarat: help the Shevchenko family resettle
Help a family of 3 start their new life in Ballarat: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.
🇦🇺 Ballarat, Victoria, Australia1,550 views
My family left Syria 14 months ago after we were targeted for our work. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Ballarat. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in June.
I was a mechanic in Syria, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,100
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $155
• Language classes and bus passes: $595
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

thinking of you, Denise. I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Ballarat
