A free library and reading room for the Unity vacant lot: help our neighbors in Aurangabad
A community-led a free library and reading room at the Unity vacant lot that will serve 515 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $165, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 515 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
• Materials: $460
Every share and every dollar helps.
