A free library and reading room for the old Maple bus depot: help our neighbors in Łódź
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $950 for materials.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Maple bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $950.
It will serve about 540 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $950 goes:
• Materials: $570
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $155
• Tools hire and delivery: $185
Thanks for reading all this.
