A free library and reading room for the Lotus vacant lot: help our neighbors in Nagpur
Volunteers in Nagpur are raising $400 for a free library and reading room at the Lotus vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $195, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 435 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $270
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $40
