A free library and reading room for the Harmony vacant lot: help our neighbors in Anaheim
Volunteers in Anaheim are raising $3,500 for a free library and reading room at the Harmony vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,500.
It will serve about 155 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,500 goes:

• Safety equipment and signage: $160
• Tools hire and delivery: $520
