A free library and reading room for the Cedar community hall: help our neighbors in Mekelle

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar community hall, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 425 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $360 • Permits and inspections: $15 • Safety equipment and signage: $35 • Tools hire and delivery: $40 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Hiwot
