A free library and reading room for the Cedar community hall: help our neighbors in Riyadh

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar community hall, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 533 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $450 goes: • Permits and inspections: $110 • Tools hire and delivery: $190 • Safety equipment and signage: $150 Thanks for reading all this.
