A free library and reading room for Cedar Park: help our neighbors in Dhaka

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Park, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 111 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $240 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $40 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Rima
