A free library and reading room for Cedar Park: help our neighbors in Medan

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Park, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $85, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 463 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $150 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $75 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 • Permits and inspections: $30 Thanks for reading all this. - Zahra
