Surat
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 427 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $300 goes: • Materials: $145 • Permits and inspections: $25 • Safety equipment and signage: $60 • Tools hire and delivery: $70 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Mehul

more neighborhoods should do this. Please keep us posted. Greetings from Medina.

    • You're not alone. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Colorado Springs.
