Vitória da Conquista
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $950. It will serve about 202 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $950 goes: • Permits and inspections: $105 • Materials: $790 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 Thank you for reading my story.
