Latina

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Park, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $830, and the remaining cost is $1,850. It will serve about 498 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,850 goes: • Materials: $1,300 • Permits and inspections: $195 • Safety equipment and signage: $185 • Tools hire and delivery: $170 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Enrico

Updates from Enrico

Thank you all. We're at 22% now ($408). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.
