A day in the garden: help Natalie in Miami

Fallen branches and overgrowth are blocking Natalie's path; a few hours of help would make a big difference.

I'm 71 and I have lived in this house in Miami for 30 years. After the storm in July, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of poor eyesight. The council has told me it will be twelve weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner. Help needed: someone with a chainsaw, plus a few people with rakes and gloves. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do. Thank you for reading my story.

  • You're not alone, Natalie. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
