A day in the garden: help Jade in San Diego
Jade, 84, can no longer manage the yard after a storm; we're looking for helpers with chainsaws and rakes.

I'm 84 and I have lived in this house in San Diego for 33 years. After the storm in January, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of arthritis.
The council has told me it will be ten weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner.
Help needed: two people with loppers and a wheelbarrow. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do.
Thank you so much.

you're not alone, Jade. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.
