Tumusiime was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in March. The surgeon at Likoni Orthopedic Institute recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,250, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,350 short. my father has been in and out of Likoni Orthopedic Institute since March. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Tumusiime struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
