Polina was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in August. The surgeon at Saint Elizabeth Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,600, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,200 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Elizabeth Hospital since August. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,600 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Polina struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
