Muthoni was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in August. The surgeon at Kinondoni Regional Medical Center recommended a craniotomy, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,700, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $850 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Kinondoni Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,700 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Muthoni struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Muthoni won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
