After a benign brain tumor, Jose was cleared for a craniotomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Jose was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in June. The surgeon at El Paso General Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,500, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $3,200 short. my husband has been in and out of El Paso General Hospital since June. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,500 is more than we can find. While we wait, Jose struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Jose won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $3,200 goes: • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $430 • Post-operative medication: $460 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $2,310 Thanks for reading all this. - Alyssa
