A craniotomy for Jaxon: covering what insurance won't
After a large ovarian cyst, Jaxon was cleared for a craniotomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In February I was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst. My surgeon at Dallas Orthopedic Institute recommended a craniotomy, and I have been placed on the schedule for April. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $4,550, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $3,650 short.
Doctors at Dallas Orthopedic Institute told me a large ovarian cyst will get worse without a craniotomy. I work as a care assistant, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $4,550 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a care assistant have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. I'll not be able to stand for more than ten minutes during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $3,650 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $480
• Travel and lodging for the family: $185
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,985
Glad we found this place.

Thanks for sharing this. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Thiruvananthapuram so I could bring a meal. Take care.
Take care, Jaxon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.
