A craniotomy for Ha-joon: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled a craniotomy in September is out of reach without help covering $5,300 of the cost.

Ha-joon was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in August. The surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,000, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $5,300 short.
my husband has been in and out of Saint Matthew Hospital since August. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Ha-joon struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Ha-joon won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ha-joon.
Sure. The biggest one is surgeon and anesthesia fees, $1,750. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Good question.
