A craniotomy for Faruk: covering what insurance won't
After a torn ligament that needs reconstruction, Faruk was cleared for a craniotomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In March I was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction. My surgeon at Dhaka Community Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and I have been placed on the schedule for June. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,600, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $800 short.
Doctors at Dhaka Community Hospital told me a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without a craniotomy. I work as a warehouse packer, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,600 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a warehouse packer have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to look after the children alone during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $800 goes:
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $440
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $65
• Travel and lodging for the family: $50
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $245
Glad we found this place.

Thanks for sharing this, Faruk. Hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Shinjuku so I could bring a meal. God bless
Hope it all works out. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Blessings
