For three years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,800. It will serve about 444 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,800 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $170 • Materials: $1,300 • Permits and inspections: $330 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Sure. The biggest one is tools hire and delivery, $170. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Appreciate you taking the time.

    • Sending love. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

      • wishing you the best, Julian. More neighborhoods should do this. Love from Buenos Aires.
