A covered market stall space for the Unity vacant lot: help our neighbors in Pune
A community-led a covered market stall space at the Unity vacant lot that will serve 591 neighbors.
🇮🇳 Maharashtra, India1,025 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 591 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $90
• Materials: $210
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Hang in there, Suhas. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 25 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Riyadh
thinking of you, Suhas. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless!
Hope things get better soon. Your post was clear and honest. Love from Jakarta
