A covered market stall space for the Jacaranda vacant lot: help our neighbors in Leicester
Volunteers in Leicester are raising $1,700 for a covered market stall space at the Jacaranda vacant lot.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,700.
It will serve about 89 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Materials: $1,000
• Permits and inspections: $175
• Safety equipment and signage: $150
• Tools hire and delivery: $375
