A covered market stall space for the Acacia vacant lot: help our neighbors in Los Angeles
Volunteers in Los Angeles are raising $2,750 for a covered market stall space at the Acacia vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,750.
It will serve about 366 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,750 goes:
• Materials: $1,750
• Permits and inspections: $290
• Safety equipment and signage: $510
• Tools hire and delivery: $200
I hope life is good to you.
