A covered market stall space for the Acacia community hall: help our neighbors in Saket
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a covered market stall space - we need $350 for materials.
🇮🇳 Saket, Delhi, India544 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 394 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $250
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $35
Glad we found this place.

Hang in there, Keerthana. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 19 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Hope it all works out. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. We're a small family in Mumbai but we're thinking of you. All the best.
sending love, Keerthana. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 29 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
Keep going, Keerthana. More neighborhoods should do this. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Saket.
Praying for you, Keerthana. This could happen to any of us. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from San Diego
You're not alone, Keerthana. This could happen to any of us. I'll check back for the next update!
