Surat

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 80 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $450 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $40 Glad we found this place. - Geeta
