A covered market stall space for Lotus Primary School: help our neighbors in Dayton
A community-led a covered market stall space at Lotus Primary School that will serve 212 neighbors.
🇺🇸 Ohio, United States1,283 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $1,150, and the remaining cost is $1,650.
It will serve about 212 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,650 goes:
• Materials: $850
• Permits and inspections: $300
• Safety equipment and signage: $300
• Tools hire and delivery: $200
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

So sorry you're going through this, Luke. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Greetings from Melbourne.
Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Blessings
